India is the neighboring country of Nepal. There is no visa requirement and the border is open to travel between Nepal and India. Every year most of the Nepali students go to India for their further studies.

Since India is also known as one of the top country to have a good talent people. It is obvious that the quality of eduction in India is far better and world widely recognized. Considering these facts, Indian embassy has been providing scholarship to Nepali students to assist them in their academic.

In this blog, we have covered the top 10 scholarship scheme provided by India Embassy for Nepali students.

1. Compex Scholarship Scheme

Embassy of India provide Compex Scholarship to all the Science streams Nepali students to study in India. This Compex Scholarship scheme offers scholarship for undergraduate courses like Engineering (BE), Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy), Agriculture (B.Sc-Agri), Dairy Technology (B.Sc. - DT) and B.Sc. (Nursing) in Indian Universities and Institutes.

The applying candidate must have above 60% in their 12 grade. Grade 11 scores will not be counted in scholarship. Visit website to know more about form fill up notice. Your all college and tuition fee will be covered from this scheme. Additionally, you will get INR 6,000 as your monthly stippened from a Indian government itself.

Requirements:

  • Must have passed class XII from NEB, CBSE or equivalent.
  • 60% in aggregate and 50% - 55% in each subject.
  • Age between 16 - 23 years can only apply to the form.
  • Form submission is divided into 2 steps. You have to pay
  • You can choose utmost 2 Courses and 4 Colleges.

2. Ayush Scholarship Scheme

Under Ayush scholarship scheme, Embassy of India provides admission to Undergraduate/Post Graduate/PhD courses in Ayurveda/Unani/Homeopathy system of medicines for study in Indian institutions.

If you wish to choose more than one subject to study further ther you need to deposit NRs 400 everytime in your near SBI Bank usually.

Requirements:

  • Must have passed class XII from NEB, CBSE or equivalent.
  • 60% marks from Government College and 70% marks for private schools.
  • The applying candidate must attain 18 years.
  • The shortlisted candidate have to give English test after being selected for further processing.
  • Candidates must be fit.

3. General Scholarship Scheme (GSS)

The General Scholarship Scheme provides scholarship majorly for management stream. Under GSS, Embassy of India provides admission to under-graduate courses in BBA, BCA, BA, BA (Hons), B.Sc., B.Com, BA (Music/Performing Arts) under General Scholarship Scheme in Indian Universities/Institutes.

This scholarship is not funded for medical students. The shortlisted candidate will be granted with a living allowance per month, a house rent allowance, a contingent Grant per annum, thesis and dissertation. Application mode will be online.

4. SAARC Scholarship Scheme

Under this scheme, admission is provided to B.Sc (Hospitality & Hotel Management) course in Indian institutions. Economics, Education, Environment, Agriculture, Mass Communication, Language and Literature, Sociology.

In this scheme as well, you have to pay NRs 400 for each program you choose to pursue in India. While choosing Institutes, candidate should decide the institute carefully. You can choose any four institute at first as per your preference.

Requirements:

  • 60% aggregate percentage in NEB, CBSE and a equivalent.
  • Students are advised to apply for the scholarship by themselves. If any middle men/ Agencies/ Institute are found to help you to apply then the chances of shortlisting will be very less.
  • Candidates must provide the correct information and details about themself while filling the form.

5. Silver Jubilee Scholarship Scheme (SJSS)

The Silver Jubliee Scholarship Scheme is designed for providing the scholarship for Post-Graduate and Doctorate Courses. This scheme provides scholarship for science and management stream both.

Notice about scholarship will be advertised in local newspaper of India and on India’s website. The application will mostly opened in the month of November-December.

Requirements:

  • Candidates applying for post graduate program should have scored at least 60% msarks in aggregate in bachelor.
  • Age limit is below the 30 years for bachelor and below 40 years for master.
  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of applicant’s academic performance and record.

6. Nepal Aid Fund Scholarship

This scholarship is only for Nepali Studets. It is provided to Nepalese students who wish to pursue Master in Agricullture in Indian University. The scholarship form is mostly likely to be opened from June to July. It is advised to check the sites regularly in that time period.

The application fee of NRs. 400/- should be deposited in favor of Education Wing, EOI, Kathmandu. Candidates can choose ateast 3 colleges for master studies.

Requirements:

  • 60% in their 12th and 50% in their English Subject.
  • Candidate must be below the 25 years of age.

7. Dr. Homi J. Bhabha Scholarship Scheme

This Dr. Homi J. Bhabha Scholarship Scheme os provided to nepali students to study in Master of Enigineering (ME) course in Indian Universities and Institutions.

Candidates are advised to give only one option in the application form. Embassy reserves the right to change the branch choice of a student depending upon the placement received from Indian University/College.

Requirements:

  • Latest passport size photo.
  • Citizenship certificate.
  • Bank voucher of NRs 400 payment.

8. Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Scheme

Embassy of India provides scholarships to Nepalese students enrolled in Class-XI in recognized colleges/schools in Nepal. The applying candidates can fill the form online and proceed further instruction through online. There is no need to go to the embassy.

The shortlisted candidate will get the stipend for NRs 2,000 per month. This stipend will you be provided in a second year as well. The candidate must have scored above 50% to be qualified for the stipend. Otherwise, the provided stipend will be discontinued.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be Nepali.
  • SEE aggregate percentage must be 60%.
  • The annual family income must be less than NRs. 2,00,000.
  • Any of the physical challenge must be mentioned with proof.
  • Sometime it may require to submit a letter written by the school’s principle.

9. Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme

This scholarship is provided to the students of Bachelor 1st sem or 1st year for undergraduate courses like medicines, engineering, and other disciplines.

The selected students will get a stipend of NRs 4,000 per month for the field of medicines/engineering.

Requirements:

  • 70% aggregate marks at the intermediate form (+2 level).
  • Age limit is between 17 years to 22 years. (from the latest updated information).
  • Diploma courses are not fit for this scholarship.

10. Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (ABVGSS)

This ABVGSS Scholarship is provided for BSc, BE, B.Tech. The shortlisted candidates will get NRs. 10,000 per annum. The stipend can vary according to academic records as well. Students with 85% marks in class 12 will get NRs 25,000 annually.

The applicant should deposit application fee of NRs. 400/- only in Favor of Education wings.

Requirements:

  • In aggregate 50% in class 10 and clas 12.
  • Age must be between 18 years and 25 years.
  • Application must be present in English Format.
