NOTE: Check with your university / college to find the accepted method of payment for tuition fees and living expenses

Pay via Bank Drafts

A Bank draft (or demand draft) is a payment order issued by a bank (Nepal's Bank) directing another bank to pay a specific sum of money to a designated recipient. It is similar to a check, but it is typically used for payments from Nepal to US university while travelling to US for the first time. Bank drafts are generally considered to be a more secure form of payment, as they are issued by a bank and are backed by the bank's funds.

To create a Bank Draft from a Nepali bank, you need to submit following documents Docuemnts Required. Banks will take a day or two to issue a Demand Draft (or Cashiers Check) on the university's bank details . Once you receive the demand draft, you need to take it with you to US and give it to the university to deposit your Demand Draft. If your Demand draft amount is more than tuition fees / hostel fees, then university will return you the remaining money in the form of check to you.

For example: If you create a Bank draft of $10,000 and your tuition fees is $9000. Your university will process the fees and return you remaining $1000 as a cheque which you can deposit in your bank account in US.

Pay via Flywire

If your U.S. university accepts Flywire payments, it is often the cheapest way to send tuition fees from Nepal. Flywire typically charges lower fees compared to bank drafts or SWIFT transfers, making it a more affordable and convenient option.
